What we hope to do...

Triangle Speakers endeavor to go into schools and institutions to help shatter the hate and ignorance of the GLBTQ community, and to help educators learn a more sensitive way to handle queer youth in our school sysytem. We accomplish this through our speaker’s bureau. Panels of speakers are provided to organizations that request them. Panel members are drawn from a roster of trained speakers.

Each panel includes three to five individuals: a lesbian, a gay man, a bisexual person, a Transgendered person and a parent or family member of the preceding. The panelists speak from their hearts. They do not lecture or act as experts on anything other than their own lives. Each speaks only from his/her own experience. Each panelist gives a short 2 to 3 minute biography of themselves, and then answers audience questions about their life experience as a gay, lesbian, bisexual or Transgendered person or as a parent or other family member of a gay, lesbian, bisexual or Transgendered person.
